Ford premiered with the Bronco logo at the Detroit Auto Show, a car they haven’t produced in over 20 years. Well, the wait is over. And not only do we have one Bronco, but we also have three. We have the two-door Bronco, the four-door Bronco, and the Bronco Sport, based on the Escape. The main Bronco will go on sale at the beginning of 2021 while the Bronco’s Sport will be available near the end of 2020.
What to expect:
- Unstoppable off-road prowess
- Seemingly unlimited customization options
- Two-door and four-door versions
- The beginning of the sixth Bronco generation introduced for 2021
Engine and Performance:
The base engine for both the two- and four-door models is a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. That should be adequate for the two-door Bronco. For the larger and heavier four-door, you’ll probably want to get the turbocharged 2.7-liter V6. It makes 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.
We’re particularly excited to see that the Bronco can be had with a seven-speed manual transmission. One of the seven forward gears is a dedicated crawl gear for serious off-roading. This transmission, unfortunately, is only offered on the base engine. Optional for the four-cylinder and standard for the V6 is a 10-speed automatic.
Neither the EPA nor Ford have made any fuel-economy ratings for the 2021 Bronco.
Interior and Cargo space:
Available with 2 or 4 doors, soft tops or hardtops, and removable body panels, the Bronco offers the same open-air possibilities that make the Wrangler an outdoor person’s delight. Ford’s car interior has a few more innovations than the Jeep.
The 8.0- or 12.0-inch touch screen embedded in the middle of the Bronco’s car model dashboard. The setup allows over the air updates and can connect to the cloud and user’s smart phone wirelessly.
The infotainment car system also supports a host of latest infotainment features that include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. The manufacturing unit can also be upgraded with desirable options, such as built-in navigation and a more powerful B&O stereo system.
The 2020 Ford Bronco Car Model is expected to go on sale in the first half of the 2021 calendar year.
