The game will arrive first on PS4 and Xbox One, however.
Let’s look at everything we know about NBA 2K21 on PS4.
Release date confirmed
NBA 2K21 has an official release date!
The game will arrive on Friday 4, September 2020.
NBA 2K21 on PS4
Despite all the hype surrounding NBA 2K21’s release on the next-gen consoles, the game will release on the PS4 and Xbox One as well.
The PS4 Standard Edition will cost £59.99 / $59.99 with the Mamba Forever Edition fronted by Kobe Bryant will set you back £84.99 / $99.99.
There is Dual Entitlement on PS4 to PS5, but only if you purchase the Mamba Forever Edition.
Buying Kobe’s version will automatically get you the Standard Edition on next-gen.
PRE-ORDER NOW: NBA 2K21 Black Mamba Edition
2K has promised that the game has been built from the ground up for next-gen, and as such will have some features on the PS5 that are unavailable on the PS4.
While your MyTEAM content will transfer across generations, MyPLAYER will not.
We now know NBA 2K21 will have a current-gen cover star – none other than Portland’s Damian Lillard!
We do expect there to be a separate Legends Edition cover athlete as normal.
It’s likely to be Kobe Bryant, but that is unconfirmed at the moment.
NBA 2K21 on next-gen
While you’ll be able to play NBA 2K21 on PS4, you’ll be missing out on a game developed for next gen capabilities.
While we don’t have perfect specifics on the features next-gen versions will have over current-gen versions, we at least know there will be new features, gameplay mode additions, and incredibly fast loading speeds.
The bespoke next-gen version costs £64.99 / $69.99.
