Madden 21 excited fans with the reveal that popular new game mode Face of the Franchise would be returning.
So far we’ve been told plenty about the game mode, but it’s not the only major innovation coming to Madden this year.
Here’s everything you need to know about Face of the Franchise.
Latest News – MUT next to be revealed
Madden Ultimate Team is a huge game mode where fans spend a lot of their time, so it’s somewhat of a surprise that we haven’t gotten any details on it yet.
That will change soon, however, as we now know MUT will be the next big reveal of Madden 21.
We’ll get an idea of new features, and even some developer insights for MUT in the next Gridiron Notes which release Tuesday, 18 August.
Gridiron Notes bring BIG reveals
Thanks to a new set of Gridiron Notes, we have all the big details for Madden 21 Face of the Franchise.
Let’s go over what’s to come from the Gridiron Notes:
- Face of the Franchise will once again begin in high school, exploring territory we haven’t seen much of since Road to Glory in the since cancelled NCAA Football game series. The game will include an engaging new storyline starting in high school, which will keep players thinking as much as playing.
- Face of the Franchise will then offer two seasons of college football gameplay, and entirely new storylines to captivate players at the collegiate level.
- Once you make it to the NFL, there are plenty of different true to life storylines you can experience depending on your situation. This will make Face of the Franchise feel more realistic and immersive than ever!
Face of the Franchise is back – and bigger
In news that will please many Madden fans, EA Sports has confirmed in its reveal that Face of the Franchise will return.
It will be called ‘Rise to Fame’.
If you didn’t play the Face of the Franchise game mode on Madden 20, you missed out. In a relatively cinematic experience, this mode is about creating yourself and then trying to overcome adversity to being drafted 1st overall.
We are hoping that for Madden 21 there is more depth, as it was over a bit quickly in the current game. But the reveal hints at this being the case with the following;
“You’ll be able to play two seasons of the College Football Playoffs where you’ll attempt to win not one, but two NCAA Championships. While in college you’ll have the chance to stay as a quarterback or switch positions to a running back or wide receiver.” – EA SPORTS Madden 21 Reveal Notes
This isn’t quite the full NCAA game we were hoping to be included, but given the circumstances, it’s extra depth in a game mode we love. So we won’t be complaining!
The Yard is bringing more innovation to Madden 21
Face of the Franchise satisfied many fans as a new development in Madden 20, and with its return, there are plenty of good things to come for it.
But another game mode that is going to shake things up in Madden 21 is The Yard.
Release date & Editions
With the launch, we now have the official release dates. EA has announced the release date for Madden 21 of 28 August.
That’s a nice place to start, but if you want to play it a bit earlier you can, with the higher editions.
If you are willing to pay £15/$15 more you can get the deluxe edition. This edition will come with three days early access and a whole heap of MUT rewards if you pre-order.
If you want to go all out you can get the MVP edition. If you pre-order this bad boy you’ll get 17 MUT Gold Team Fantasy Packs, a Lamar Jackson Elite Item and Power Up, some extra uniforms, and the early access!
It will set you back £80/$90 though.
