The good ol’ Flash Player from Adobe has been a very faithful companion to most of us for many years. It was always around when we needed to render on our PCs those demanding games, those videos, and so on. But you know what they say: nothing lasts forever in this world, and it’s totally true.
Adobe Flash Player will be shut down for good in 2020, and there’s nothing we can do about it but find ourselves another program capable of doing its job. There had been some petitions made online in order to convince Adobe not to shut down its Flash Player anymore, and this speaks for itself of how much the users loved their program.
The sad news was brought in 2017
Since almost three years ago, Adobe itself brought the sad news to the public about their beloved Flash Player being gradually shutting down until it will disappear completely in 2020. But we’re already in 2020, so when will Adobe Flash Player stop receiving updates?
The same post made by Adobe three years ago says that its Flash Player will stop being updated and distributed until the end of 2020. This means that Adobe Flash Player may still be around for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, but 2021 will be the first year without the program. Therefore, Adobe Flash Player will not be receiving any updates in 2021 and beyond, and the most logical move is to get it out of your PC. It would be extremely dangerous to keep using it outdated since the web is thriving with malware.
Why is Adobe Flash Player dying?
Adobe also brought an explanation for the demise of their beloved program, saying that “open standards like HTML5, WebGL and WebAssembly have matured over the past several years”
What do you think? Will you be able to survive without Adobe Flash Player on your PC?
